The Oxford Half will be returning this year on Sunday 17th October 2021. The event expects to attract around 12,000 runners, many of whom will be fundraising for local and national charities.
Using the roads of Oxford for the race will cause changes to usual traffic routes for a limited period on Sunday 17th October. We are working with the Oxfordshire County Council as the Highways authority to agree the route and in planning the route every effort is being made to minimise the disruption caused with the closing roads.
…
Full details of the route will be being released shortly and will be available on the event website https://run.limelightsports.club/event/oxford-2021/oxford-half
Road Closures will be in operation from approximately 08.00am in some areas and will re-open from 11.00am once runners have passed by and it is safe and feasible to do so. All roads, expect for Broad Street, Radcliffe Square and Parks Road (between Holywell St & South Parks road), will be re-opened by 14.30. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
…
Throughout the planning of the event, we will continue to monitor and implement all government guidance around the everchanging COVID-19 situation.
…
We are also looking for organisations to support the event through setting up your own race-day promotions for runners, providing volunteers or entertainment, or simply by being cheering spectators.
…If you would like to discuss the road closures or how your organisation could
get involved please get in touch by email at hello@limelightsports.club
kind regards,
Oxford Half Team
