It is with understandable sadness that I learnt Mike Brincklow had died last Friday at Worthing. Mike was a popular publican, the White Horse at Headington (1970’s), the Wagon & Horses at Culham, the Lamb & flag at Longworth and most recently at the Horse and Jockey, Woodstock road. When the Horse and Jockey was closed, Michael returned to being a gardener as well as an excellent handyman. RIP Michael. x

The Horse and Jockey was about 300 metres from the Rose and Crown at 69 Woodstock Road, Oxford. It was operated by Buccaneer Taverns from Cheltenham. It closed in 2002 and was converted into flats.
