JAZZ LIVE STREAMING

Stephen Foote.

For the past 6 months, that is 24 Sunday’s ‘on site’ for 8 hours and numerous weekdays discussing second hand quality equipment.  Stephen ‘Footie’ Foote, a professional cameramann and owner of Blue Water Films, a Rose and Crown enthusiast, has organised the live stream “Jazz Inn The Courtyard”, assisted by the barman, Andrew Hall and ocassional jazz night attendees, Peter and Marcello Laitt,
It’s been one helluva journey and I’m very proud of the level of production that we’ve reached.
During this time Stephen has been rewarded solely by a weekly sausage and chips and a pint of orange juice and soda!!
Times are constantly changing and after a bleak couple of business years for most of us, the seeds of a return to normal life are beginning to show.
To this end, Stephen Foote is delighted to inform us of an offer of a cameraman job in the Mediterranean. In the middle of this bleak winter, we say – lucky you!! And we all wish you every success.
Stephen, ably supported by his son Johnnie, taught me so much about live streaming. Every week, under his tutelage, I set the stage up, camera positions, microphones, lighting, cables, connections, computers, it was fascinating and fun.
There were a few steps remaining to learn, I think, the final hardware connections and getting online.
With Stephen away in the Mediterranean sun, I, alone, will be unable to ‘stream’ the jazz show this week. The search is on to find a new ‘informed’ helper.

I hope that Stephen might return one day, I assure you he’ll continue to be as welcome as I hope he’s felt over the last 30 odd years.
Stephen wrote to me saying: “… but maybe you should describe my absence as a sabbatical? Like the Terminator, I will be back …”

We wish you well, don’t forget the factor 30 and please come back soon!
Bon voyage from all at the Rose and Crown.
