I wrote to the Adnams Family brewery,

… we’ve been selling draught Adnams Southwold bitter from our family run free house for more than a quarter of a century.
Do you think that we’ll ever make the hallowed “scroll down to find the closest pub to your location” on your web pages? We note that there is a house mentioned at, as we call it, ‘the other place’.

Adnams reply:

Thank you for your email.  We are so pleased to hear you stock Adnams Southwold Bitter and we hope it still goes down well in The Rose and Crown.  Thanks for emailing in with the idea – the reason we have decided not to include (you on) a map on the (our) website of ‘your nearest local Adnams pint’ is simply down to the volume of changes and updates it would require daily.  As you can imagine, we have a lot of stockists who regularly change their selection of beers available and new customers who join us, so we therefore can’t manage the number of updates this page would require.

We always appreciate new ideas, so thanks for emailing in and hope you will continue to support us.

All the best,

BUT WE DONT REGULARLY CHANGE … we’ve been selling draught Adnams Southwold bitter from our family run free house for more than a quarter of a century.

  • it’s still the “glorious”, but is that a Suffolk punch!
