The OXFORD HALF MARATHON, Full Access to the R&C at lunchtime
The Oxford Half is on the 11 October 2026, for a day of autumn cheer and challenge.
DRIVE TO THE R&C:
The Woodstock Road is unaffected and can be accessed from the city centre and north Oxford.
Drive along the Woodstock Road and turn into Canterbury road (parking).
… and turn into Winchester Road (parking) where North Parade can be accessed on foot. The avenue is gated both ends to allow tables in the road.
Access via Banbury road restricted at lunchtime
The event expects to attract around 15,000 runners, many of whom will be fundraising for local and national charities.
The race uses the roads of Oxford, this will cause changes to usual traffic routes for a limited period on Sunday 13 October.

Race roads will close at 8am and the latest reopens at 2.30.
Some city centre streets will close on Saturday night from 6pm. {See website, link is above}.

The Oxford Half will be returning this year on Sunday 11 October 2026. The event has sold out in record time with 15,000 entries, many of whom will be fundraising for local and national charities.
The race route remains similar to 2025, starting and finishing on Mansfield Road, and will involve road closures in your area. We are working with Oxfordshire County Council as the Highways authority and other key stakeholders to minimize disruption caused. Full information regarding all road closures, parking suspensions and diversion routes will be sent to you in the coming months.
ROAD CLOSURES
The majority of road closures will be in operation from 07.30 on Sunday 11 October with phased re-openings from 11:30, once runners have passed by and it is safe and feasible to do so. A section of Mansfield Road will be closed on Saturday 10 October and Sunday 11 October for the installation and derig of the start and finish areas. Emergency service and pedestrian access will not be affected. Further details of the road closures and timings will be provided in August.
