BIOGRAPHY:

Lee Jones is a British-Australian jazz guitarist and composer, combining influences from modern jazz, fusion, blues, avant-garde and rock styles. Lee has regularly performed throughout the UK scene and recorded/performed/studied alongside Larry Coryell, Martin Taylor and Mike Stern. Since graduating from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Jazz Course in 2007, he has released seven solo albums with former WEA producer Simon Tittley and in 2019 completed a PhD in music composition at the University of Salford, Manchester.

In 2020, Lee released his Ebook entitled ‘100 Examples for the Modern Intermediate and Advanced Guitarist’. Lee now resides in Australia where he is active in live performance, recording and music education/research. Lee released his latest solo guitar project, ‘A World Away’, in late 2023 and was a finalist in the 2025 Made in New York Jazz Competition, winning the category for Best Solo Instrumentalist.

Following a successful Australian touring run throughout 2025-2026, Lee will be returning to the UK for the first time in two years for a short tour in January 2027 before performing a short tour of South Korea later in the same month. Lee is also currently preparing a new original music recording release for 2027 featuring top Melbournian jazz musicians before finally heading out for a repeat tour of Japan later in 2027 as part of nationwide solo jazz guitar tour.

TONIGHT

Tonight, Lee will be reuniting with a stellar regional-based rhythm section honouring the leading giants of classic jazz guitar from the 1950s & 60s including Wes Montgomery and Barney Kessel through to more contemporary artists. This lineup will be performing a range of diverse repertoire from classic albums including Boss Guitar, Smokin’ at the Halfnote, and Jellybeans with a soulful, blues-inflected passion throughout.
